Barbeque Tofu Sandwich
An alternative dish loaded with flavor and infused with cannabis to satisfy body and mind.
For those of us that prefer dishes without meat that are still healthy yet packed with savory goodness… These barbeque tofu sandwiches are infused with your favorite herb via Infused Barbeque Sauce and perfect for both vegans and vegetarians. Be sure and have some Infused Barbeque Sauce prepared before beginning this recipe, and like any sandwich, toppings can be catered to the consumer’s desires along with the spices used in this base recipe.
Ingredients Needed:
1 cup Infused Barbeque Sauce
16 ounces extra-firm tofu, drained
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons mustard
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon onion powder
Salt & pepper to taste
4 sandwitch buns
Toppings of choice (lettuce, green onion, cabbage slaw, etc.)
Materials Needed:
Kitchen towel
Knife & cutting board
Skillet
Paper Towels
Prep Time: 10 minutes + 15 minutes to flatten tofu
Cooking Time: 15-20 minutes
Herbal BBQ Tofu Sandwich Recipe
1. Prep Tofu
A. Drain then wrap tofu in clean kitchen towel atop cutting board.
B. Place heavy object such as cook book or iron skillet on top of tofu to press & flatten, for about 15-20 minutes.
C. Slice tofu into portions.
2. Cook Tofu
A. Heat olive oil in skillet over medium heat.
B. Place tofu in skillet and cook until browned and cirsp on bottom (about 3-5 minutes).
C. Flip tofu and cook until side crisps.
D. Place on paper towel to remove excess oil.
3. After Tofu Cools
A. Slice tofu into thin, long strips.
B. Place back in skillet along with Infused Barbeque Sauce, soy sauce, mustard, paprika, onion powder, salt and pepper.
C. Cook on medium-low heat until tofu absorbs barbecue sauce and spices.
D. Add more seasonings according to taste preferences (optional).
4. Toast Buns & Create Sandwiches
A. Heat bun in toaster oven or normal oven until hot or crisp (optional).
B. Place tofu and toppings of choice on bun and enjoy!

Et Voila! It’s as simple as that – the most time-consuming part of this recipe being flattening the tofu! This same recipe can be crafted using steak strips instead of tofu (if you’re not vegan!).
