710: Celebrating Oil Day, a Holiday for Cannabis Concentrate Consumers
How will you be celebrating 710 this year?
April 20th, the "official" cannabis-lover's holiday, is a date nearly every consumer's celebrated. Even non-consumers know what 420 means, and a few celebrate it everyday at the same time of 4:20. But are you familiar with 710?
What is 710?
710, or July 10th, is another "holiday" celebrated by cannabis consumers that indulge in the plant's concentrated form. Remember the school days when typing "07734" on a calculator and flipping it upside down was amusing? Maybe you were the kid that spelled "55378008"? In any case, take 710, flip it upside down, et voila! Oil. Anyone that uses cannabis in its concentrated forms such as oil, wax, shatter, etc., celebrate the power of the cannabis plant for its uses in medicine and recreation. Those that dab are especially prone to celebrate 710.
Origins of 710
Like the origins of 420, the origins of 710 are highly debatable. It was first recognized publicly in 2012 when the first 710 Cup competition for best concentrate began. However, using the number and date of 710 as a time to celebrate began much sooner than that, with various individuals and groups claiming they coined the number.
