DIY: Cannabis Infused Milk

Cannabis-infused milk, also called Cannamilk, is a versatile ingredient that every canna-chef can find useful when crafting a recipe – and can often replace normal milk.

DIY: Cannabis Infused Milk

Ingredients Needed:

½ gallon (8 cups) full fat milk
½ ounce of cannabis trim or flower of choice

*Note: Potency of infused milk depends on parts of plant used along with strain and THC levels. Ratio of cannabis grams to cups of milk should be roughly 2:1, though more/less can be used to raise/lower potency.

Materials Needed:

Medium saucepan
Mixing spoon
Strainer OR Cheesecloth
Grinder (optional)
Air-tight container for storage

Prep Time: 5 minutes.
Cooking Time: 40-60 minutes.

Cannamilk Recipe

1. Prep Cannabis & Milk
A. Break up cannabis using grinder or with fingers as finely as possible.
B. Pour milk into saucepan, bring to boil, then lower to a simmer.

*Note: Careful not to overheat milk as it will overflow.

2. Infuse & Decarb
A. Slowly add cannabis to simmering milk while stirring with spoon.
B. Let mixture simmer on low for 40-60 minutes, stirring occasionally.

*Note: Cannabis must go through decarboxylation by being properly heated to activate the psychoactive component, THC.

3. Strain & Store
A. Strain milk with strainer OR cheesecloth – ensure to ring out cheesecloth before discarding.
B. Allow to cool before storing in air-tight container in fridge.
