About this Hybrid Strain
Alien Abduction is a potent and mysterious strain of cannabis that is highly popular among the medical marijuana community. The exact origins of this strain are a mystery yet to be solved, but it is recognized as being a cross between the Animal Cookies strain and Alien Dawg. Animal Dawg is a 50/50 hybrid strain known for its potency and taste while Alien Dawg has been bred for its high THC content. Since Alien Abduction is a hybrid strain, its effects in higher doses may just be perfect for patients with severe medical conditions. The high is very psychedelic and you may get the ‘giggles’.
The crowning glory of Alien Abduction is surely its buds: these stunning flowers have an unmistakable indica shape, with a small, broad base that tapers down into a pointed tip. These buds furthermore have a very compact structure – they vibe more indica than their genetic heritage might imply. The leaves themselves are a medium to dark green, but are often given dramatic color by deep purple hues; these shades are the byproducts of pigments called anthocyanins that are common in hot climates, although their precise purpose in the plants is up for debate. Finally, these beautiful flowers often also have curly orange-yellow pistils which balance this strain’s wide range of colors.
Alien Abduction smells almost as interesting as its name would suggest. Rather earthy, which it holds true in the flavor category as well. When the nuggets are broken open the pungency really takes hold and it’s more of a spiced smell compared to the diesel-ish smell that got stronger as it was burned. A hint of pine was felt in the scent and taste but the sweetness I thought that was smelled still was nonexistent. The smoke still had some common strain flavor that when tapped keeps bringing me back to the Alien Dawg but just a lighter version of what the Alien Dawg offered. I’d say that this strain has a slight tinge of smelly in it but I’d say there was more taste in it versus this earthy one. After a hit or two more of the Alien Abduction the taste was more like her scent mentioned with a spice finish. Another difference in flavor was that I still got a diesel taste but I didn’t think it was as prominent than when I had smoked it.
Known for its potent euphoric effects, Alien Abduction supplies an immediate cerebral stimulation that sends the mind into a razor-sharp state of thinking and exploration. This fine-tuning of the senses can lead to very powerful insights with few negative side effects – the cerebral activity is then balanced out by a warming, mellow body high. This combination of mind and body effects makes Alien Abduction a good choice for consumers looking to relieve symptoms of stress without being forced into a coma or a loss of energy. Encouraging uplifting behavior, the strain has also been prescribed to stimulate creativity.
Alien Abduction’s particular growth characteristics, such as its specific flowering perhaps, were not available during the writing of this review. Similar to that of other hybrid strains, growers operating within proper conditions can expect a harvesting period typical of hybrid strains, where Alien Abduction would be ready for a successful harvest in an estimated 8-10 weeks. This strain should thrive in both indoor and outdoor environments, providing moderate-level care is taken to ensure the strain fulfills its potential. Alien Abduction terpenes have not yet been determined, the scent of this strain accents a very distinct variety lip-smacking flavor, graced by myrcene, caryophyllene, and limonene terpenoids, which are in other strains.
