About this Hybrid Strain

We're sure the baby boomers out there remember Chocolate Thai from the heyday of the 1960's hippie movement. It is making a comeback 60 years later! The traditional Chocolate Thai came in Thai Sticks, where the buds were tied to the stem with hemp cords. This old school Chocolate Thai grew out in the wild as a Thai Landrace strain. Nowadays, many cultivators have their own versions of Chocolate Thai and descendants, consisting of various crosses involving this classic Sativa-dominant hybrid, so you'll see quite a bit of variance in this strain. Traditionally, THC content was around 12% in Chocolate Thai strains, but nowadays strains are stronger overall.

The Chocoalate Thai buds have wavy leaves that are a dark olive-green near the stems, then brighten to a lime-green near the tips. This is in large part due to the thick coat of gold sticky trichomes. Light orange pistils are sparsely scattered throughout the buds in small groups.

Although this strain is named Chocolate Thai, the odor primarily consists of spicy orange-citrus, with notes of coffee and chocolate. The bitter chocolate flavor was more pronounced upon combustion, but so was the spicy citrus aftertaste.

Chocolate Thai has built a reputation among cannabis users for being a good beginner's Sativa. Things haven't changed much, as many still recommend it as a good choice for the novice user or users who are prone to paranoia, but looking to try a Sativa. Users found the psychoactive buzz energizing, with many experiencing enhanced focus and motivation, making them suggest Chocolate Thai as worth a try for users suffering from ADD. Personally, I often find it much harder to pay attention with more potent Sativa associated strains. Chocolate Thai gets my stamp of approval for providing a smooth surge of mental energy and clarity that can help aid in productivity. Some users also found this strain useful in helping dissipate feelings of anxiety and depression.
