About this Hybrid Strain
Previously called Master Kush, this strain was originally bred by Nirvana Seeds out of Amsterdam and named High Rise. It won the 1st Place Indica in the High Times Cannabis Cup two consecutive years, 1992 & 1993. Since then it has been plugged by Snoop Dogg as his go to choice. The Master Splinter named kind of evolved over time as the generations ensued. Originally called Master Splinter 99, this strain's potency has been steadily increasing over these last 30 plus years! It is estimated to be 90% Indica 10% Sativa, and is a cross of Hindu Kush and OG Skunk. Our batch was grown by State Flower and tested at nearly 32% THC!
The Master Splinter buds are tree and oval-shaped, consisting of fern-green leaves, hidden under a mass of fuzzy amber-trichomes. An abundance of long and furry orange-pistils are interspersed among them.
Master Splinter smells like skunk, cool mint, and spicy pepper. The flavor is similar, as bold hints of mint and pepper mix together. One user who smoked the menthol cigarettes remarked about the similarity in flavor, minus the skunk.
Known for its relaxing and sedative effects, users unanimously agreed that they felt as if they were in a blissful state of vegetative ecstasy. At nearly 32% THC, the psychoactive high is beyond euphoric. One user described that the moment they realized how delicious plain vanilla ice cream could be, as if it were the for the first time, was also the same moment they realized they had eaten it all. Reviewers clearly warn that this strain has the potential to cause serious indulgence. Users on low carb diets consider this a warning!
The Master Splinter monicker may also have evolved because this strain is not recommended by its fans for novice users. Most lie as casualties of food comas, or in fits of uncontrollable laughter. I hope you enjoyed learning about the evolution of this unique strain. It evolved into Master Kush, then into Master Splinter 99, and finally into the potent Master Splinter of today.
