About this Hybrid Strain
Aspen OG is a wonderful indica Hybrid that is an excellent reminder of camping in the Aspens in Colorado as a summer camp kid. It has a wonderful earthy smell of the Aspen tree itself and leaves one laying in the Aspen grove with a summer breezer rustling the trees above you. This incredible strain is not for bedtime but for a relaxed evening of television with friends. Indicative of its quality and potency, the buds of Aspen OG are dense and tightly packed, and they have an very solid structure. Comprised of a deep, almost spectral Piney greens, the surface is broken up fitfully by sharp maroon bars over wearing areas, and is covered throughout with tiny burnt orange pistils. Well cured resin glands can be found gathered lightly along the flowers’ surface, giving them an sticky yet high cannabinoid content.
When breaking down the nugs with a grinder if there aren’t enough keef on the bottom for you, call me immediately! Seriously though, this strain is surely something else all unique in its rich, earthy aroma that envelopes you whole. Think ply, but not in a negative connotation at all! Trying to paint the earthy scent with words I see tall, dense forests; pine trees surrounded by mountains and silence. Opening the buds to get a few grind shots offers even more a whiff of the herb and wood that stretch the nose to its limit. The taste matches the smell perfectly, just as you could imagine; earth and herb with pine trees and even a little wood and maybe a tad bit on spice on a little bit on the lips!
Famous for a kind and mellow high, immediate relief of stress and tension is defined with this calming and good-hearted strain. The user says they first experience a wave of calmness that spreads through their entire body accompanied by a mild euphoria that causes a gentle brightness in mood and mind. Many users of this strain also report it being very effective for anxiety.
Growing information for Aspen OG is limited, but it appears to be in line other indica-dominant hybrids, which means control for its environment is recommended for maximum yield. A strong myrcene scent, and a tendency to produce medium to large nugs respectively identify the two parents, which are Elemental Seeds’ Fire OG Kush and a year 2000 cut of a pre-Girl Scout Cookies Bay Area strain of Sour Diesel. A thick cover of trichomes over the nugget may convey a rich profile of secondary metabolites, primarily myrcene, but the scent is also dense with pinene and caryophyllene.
